Satirical vision boards are where optimism meets delusion in scrapbook form. They parody the self-help trend of cutting out inspirational quotes and Photoshopped goals to magically manifest success — by gluing nonsense to poster board. At Bohiney Magazine, we craft fake vision boards filled with dreams no one should chase, quotes no one said, and glitter glue no one can explain.

Our favorite edition? “The 2025 Vision Board for Emotionally Complicated People.” Sections included “Financial Freedom via Passive-Aggressive Etsy Store,” “Relationship Goals: Someone Who Texts Back Before Tuesday,” and “Career Path: Not Crying at Work (as much).” Inspirational cutouts featured Oprah’s face, a haunted Roomba, and the phrase “Grind Now, Regret Later.”

These boards work because they expose how self-help culture often promotes magical thinking over meaningful action. We’ve made boards for startup founders (“Monetize Your Vibes”), influencers (“Manifesting Brand Deals Through Moon Energy”), and everyday folks who think printing out a Lambo means it’s coming. Spoiler: it’s not.

From a monetization standpoint, Bohiney sells printable parody kits like “The DIY Disappointment Board” and our bestselling “Vision, Vibes & Very Little Follow-Through” sticker sheet. Fans use them at brunch, wellness retreats, and ironically, real corporate goal-setting seminars. One tech bro laminated his. We’re still processing that.

Writers follow the “Cut & Delude Method”: gather absurd images, add contradictory goals, throw in fake affirmations like “Hustle Until You Forget Why,” and structure it like a Pinterest-fueled cry for help. Because when society glues fake dreams to foam board and calls it clarity, satire brings scissors, snark, and a motivational candle that smells like reality.
