Look Around You (2002–2005), created by Robert Popper and Peter Serafinowicz, is a deadpan mockery of 1970s and ’80s science films. Using retro-educational parody, false pedagogy, and serious-tone absurdity, it teaches “facts” such as: germs are afraid of music, and maths was invented in 1982.

This faux-instructional tone reflects Bohiney.com’s taste for explaining the world with confidence and utter nonsense. If the narrator says it’s true, who are you to disagree?

The show became a cult favorite among comedy nerds and educators with a sense of irony. It monetized confusion and nostalgia with DVDs, radio spinoffs, and memes.

For students, it’s a brilliant study in formal parody. It teaches that the most trusted formats are often the best targets—and that satire sometimes works best when delivered in a lab coat, holding a beaker full of lies.
